About ReadZoo
Where every book is an adventure.
ReadZoo started with a question every parent asks: "Did my kid actually read that — or just flip the pages?"
Schools have answered that question for years with reading programs that quiz kids on what they read: a book, a quick comprehension quiz, and proof they understood it. Parents know the model and like it. But it only works at school, only on the school's quiz list, and it disappears over the summer — right when reading skills slide the most.
What we built
ReadZoo brings that model home, and removes its biggest limits. Your child reads a real book — from the library, a school book fair, or grandma's shelf — and ReadZoo builds a comprehension quiz for almost any title. Not a walled garden of pre-approved books. The book your kid is already holding.
What we believe
- No new screen time. The reading happens on paper. The app is a quick check-in, not another tablet to stare at.
- Comprehension over minutes. "Minutes read" doesn't tell you much. Whether your child understood the story does.
- Private by design. Parents own every account, we collect the minimum we need, and we never show ads or sell data — built clean for kids under today's privacy rules.
Who's behind it
ReadZoo is a small, independent project built by a parent who wanted summer reading to actually stick. We're not backed by an ad network or a data broker — the product is paid for by the families who use it, which keeps our incentives pointed at one thing: helping your child become a stronger, more confident reader.
